Colours are my first love ... I aim to depict through colours my often near-euphoric observations of the every day ordinary - single moments in time - that make the world a magical place. I want time to slow for people so they can feel that peace that is possible in all things. Beach Treasures
This was a quick sketch from a ref photo I took on my deck last summer. Hmmm ... I sure do hope I can find another luscious purple petunia such as this one was. In this case, the petunias are intended to "frame" the real center of interest, the shells - beach treasures brought back from lazy ambles on the beach.
This was painted using only four colours: Ultramarine Blue, Aureolin Yellow, Quinachridone Violet and Scarlet Lake - mixed in various strengths to create a variety of new colours. I really enjoyed painting this one:
